The Psalm Project

Workshops for middle- and high-shool students

King David was a shepherd, warrior, leader, musician, and poet. Today, some 3,000 years after he lived, his poetry is still some of the best-known and best-loved in the world. King David's Psalms are a cornerstone of literature and prayer and while millions of people know the words in the Psalms, they don’t realize their power, beauty, and meaning.

In a single workshop or series of workshops, we will explore some of King David’s psalms and the techniques he used to write them. Students will then use some of the same techniques that David used and write their own verses. The students’ writings will become part of The Psalm Project, published online and, depending on interest, published as a print anthology.
